Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs in Hayes, West London. This full-time, term-time role runs 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday, starting January 2027.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to help the pupil access learning and build independence. The role requires patience, adaptability and a proactive approach to inclusion and safeguarding, with opportunities for CPD

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in school or similar setting.
• Patient, calm and adaptable approach to supporting learning.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils, families and staff.
• Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to the pupil throughout the school day.
• Help pupil access lessons and participate in activities.
• Support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation as needed.
• Encourage independence and positive engagement with routines.
• Adapt activities and resources under the teacher's guidance.
• Promote positive behaviour and inclusion in the classroom.
• Collaborate with teachers and SEND team to ensure consistent support.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and individual support plans.
