Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a mainstream primary school in Hayes seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs from January 2027. Tradewind Recruitment is working with a mainstream primary school in Hayes seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs from January 2027. About the Role

You will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to provide consistent, individualised support throughout the school day. You will help the pupil engage with lessons, participate in classroom activities and build positive relationships with peers.

Responsibilities will include:

• Providing 1:1 support tailored to the pupil's individual needs.
• Helping the pupil access classroom learning and follow instructions.
• Supporting communication, social interaction and emotional regulation where required.
• Encouraging independence and positive engagement with school routines.

• Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary position
• Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
• Pay: 100 per day, PAYE

• Has experience supporting children with SEND, either in a school or a relevant setting.
• Is patient, calm and adaptable, with a positive approach to supporting children's needs.
• Can build trusting relationships while encouraging appropriate independence.
• Is confident working alongside teachers and following individual support strategies.
• Understands the importance of safeguarding, consistency and inclusion.

Experience supporting pupils with autism, communication needs, sensory needs or emotional regulation would be beneficial, depending on the pupil's individual requirements. Candidates with transferable experience who can demonstrate the right skills and approach are also encouraged to apply.
