Job summary

Sense Education in Carlisle is recruiting a 1-1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with SEND on a long-term, full-time basis. ASAP start, with potential temp-to-perm, salary £14.60–£16.90 per hour, Monday to Friday 8:30am–3:30pm, in a supportive school environment.

You will provide one-on-one or small group support, build confidence, track progress with teachers and parents, and promote inclusive learning alongside safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEND students is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and rapport-building ability.
• Compassionate and proactive approach to supporting student development.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students needing extra help.
• Offer emotional and pastoral support to improve confidence and self-esteem.
• Help students with organisation, study techniques and goal setting.
• Support students with learning needs including SEN.
• Foster a positive and inclusive school culture.
• Work with teachers and parents to track and review progress.
• Contribute to strategies to enhance learning and wellbeing.
