Milk Education is recruiting a caring, patient 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Nottingham on a long-term basis starting September 2026. The role involves providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with SEND, helping them engage with learning, develop independence, and thrive in a nurturing classroom. You will work with teachers and the SENCO to adapt resources and monitor progress.
Qualifications
Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
1:1 support in a school setting is desirable.
Understanding of special educational needs and inclusive practice.
Patient, calm, and nurturing approach.
Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
Responsibilities
Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with SEND.
Help pupil access learning and participate in classroom activities.
Adapt resources and activities to meet individual needs.
Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
Build a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil.
Encourage independence and confidence.
Support communication and social development.
