Job summary

Randstad Education in Godalming is recruiting an experienced Teaching Assistant to support 1:1 with students aged 7-19 with complex needs in a SEN setting. You will work closely with a dedicated team to promote engagement, learning and wellbeing.

Role involves supporting core subjects, using multi-sensory approaches, and providing emotional guidance while developing daily living skills. A full enhanced DBS and eligibility to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Maths and English GCSE or equivalent.
• Proven experience working with SEN students and ability to work as part of a team.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and a full enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Support, encourage and monitor learning on a 1:1 basis with SEN students.
• Assist with delivery of core subjects including numeracy and literacy.
• Utilise multi-sensory techniques (signs, Makaton, symbols) to aid communication.
• Provide emotional support and help students develop self-regulation.
• Collaborate with experienced staff, receiving mentoring and training.
