Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking a patient SEN Teaching Assistant to support a reception pupil starting primary school in October 2026. The role starts with morning-only sessions and will transition to full-time hours as the pupil settles, based at a welcoming primary school on the outskirts of Wigan.

Ideal candidates will have Level 2 TA qualification, SEN experience, and an Enhanced DBS (Update Service). The position offers a supportive EYFS team and structured transition plans.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 teaching assistant qualification or higher.
• Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally EYFS/KS1.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service (or willingness to apply) and legal right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a reception pupil with additional needs.
• Implement personalised learning and behaviour plans as directed by the SENDCO and class teacher.
• Guide the pupil through morning routines, phonics, and early years play-based learning.
• Collaborate with the class teacher to adapt activities for accessibility and engagement.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff and parents to support a smooth transition to full-time hours.
