Protocol Education is recruiting for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a male pupil in Reception at a specialist SEN school in South Shields. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, with hours 8:30am–3:30pm on supply, with potential to become permanent and extend hours to 8:00am–4:00pm.
The role requires patience, empathy and confidence supporting children with additional needs, including managing challenging behaviours and potential self-injury. DBS checks apply.
We are currently recruiting for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a male pupil in Reception at a specialist SEN school in South Shields.
This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, with supply hours of 8:30am–3:30pm. There is also the potential for the position to become permanent for the right person, at which point the hours would change to 8:00am–4:00pm.
The pupil can display challenging behaviours and behaviours that can result in self-injury, so the school is looking for someone who is patient, empathetic and confident supporting children with additional needs. The pupil may have visible bruising as a result of his self‑injurious behaviour.

The school is currently reviewing candidate profiles and will invite suitable candidates in for a trial day. This is a quick turnaround, as the pupil is due to start at the school on Monday, so ideally they are looking for someone who can attend a trial on Monday.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
