Protocol Education Limited is recruiting dedicated and nurturing 1:1 SEN Support Assistants to work across a range of mainstream primary schools in Greater London. This role focuses on providing individual support to pupils with SEN to help them access learning and build confidence.

If you have experience with children in schools or childcare and a calm, proactive approach, this is a fantastic opportunity. Flexible daily supply work and ongoing consultant support are provided.

• Experience working with children in a school, childcare or support setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with a range of SEN (Autism, ADHD, Speech & Language needs).
• Support pupils in the classroom and during breaks/lunchtime.
• Implement strategies to keep pupils engaged and focused in lessons.
• Encourage independence, social interaction and emotional development.
• Work with class teachers, SENDCOs and other professionals to support pupil progress.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Promote a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.

This role involves providing individual support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them access learning, build confidence, and develop positive relationships within the school environment.

The Role

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with a range of SEN, including Autism, ADHD, Speech & Language needs, and learning difficulties.
• Support pupils both in the classroom and during unstructured times such as break and lunch.
• Implement strategies to help pupils remain engaged and focused during lessons.
• Encourage independence, social interaction, and emotional development.
• Work closely with class teachers, SENDCOs, and other professionals to support pupil progress.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

• Has previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, or support setting.
• Experience supporting children with SEN is highly desirable.
• Demonstrates patience, empathy, and resilience.
• Is confident building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
• Can remain calm and proactive in challenging situations.
• Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
