NextGen Teachers is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 pupil with ADHD in a Leeds primary school (LS6). You will provide tailored one-to-one guidance throughout the school day, helping the pupil stay focused, regulate emotions and build confidence and independence.

Ideal candidates will have GCSEs, a calm and patient approach, and experience with behaviour support. The role offers full-time hours, a temporary-to-permanent pathway and ongoing consultant support.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with ADHD, SEN or behavioural needs.
• GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above.
• Calm, confident and consistent with resilience.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS.

Responsabilités

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a KS2 pupil with ADHD.
• Establish clear boundaries and reinforce classroom expectations.
• Use positive behaviour management strategies to encourage engagement.
• Help the pupil regulate emotions and manage frustration.
• Adapt activities and break down tasks with clear instructions.
• Build a trusting relationship while maintaining boundaries.
• Support independence, resilience and positive peer interactions.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and SEN team on strategies.
