Job summary

Value Education LTD is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs in mainstream settings across Oldham.

The role offers competitive daily pay (£95-£110), long-term assignments with potential permanent progression, September start across primary and secondary schools, weekly pay and ongoing CPD.

A calm, patient, proactive approach is essential, with an Enhanced DBS on Update Service preferred or willingness to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN in schools, care, youth work or similar settings.
• Calm, patient and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
• Flexible and proactive attitude.
• Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils individually throughout the school day.
• Working with children who may have ASC, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, learning difficulties or other additional needs.
• Helping pupils access learning and fully engage in lessons.
• Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Collaborating closely with class teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to implement tailored support strategies.
• Encouraging pupils' independence, confidence and social development.
