Job summary

Value Education LTD in Salford is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEN in mainstream settings across the Salford area. This role suits experienced TAs, care workers or graduates looking to start a rewarding career in education.

You will provide targeted support to pupils with ASC, ADHD, speech and language needs, and collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to tailor support strategies.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN in schools, care, youth work or similar settings.
  • Calm, patient and nurturing approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
  • Flexible and proactive attitude.
  • Teaching Assistant qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Salary: £95 - £110 per day (dependent on experience)

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

We are seeking caring, patient and committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils in Mainstream Settings across the Salford area.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants, Support Workers, Care Workers or graduates looking to develop a rewarding career in education.

The Role

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide dedicated support to pupils with additional needs within a mainstream classroom setting.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting pupils individually throughout the school day.
  • Working with children who may have Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, learning difficulties or other additional needs.
  • Helping pupils access learning and fully engage in lessons.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Collaborating closely with class teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to implement tailored support strategies.
  • Encouraging pupils' independence, confidence and social development.
