Job summary

St. Mary's Catholic Academy is seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs.

This permanent, part-time role is 17.5 hours per week, typically 8:30am to 12pm, Monday to Friday, within a supportive team. You will work closely with the SENCO, families and external agencies to provide personalised support, helping pupils access a differentiated curriculum and achieve targets in a friendly, inclusive school environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant (or recognised equivalent).
• Experience or training in supporting children with communication and interaction needs.

Responsibilities

• Support children individually and in small groups with a differentiated, personalised curriculum.
• Be proactive, flexible and responsive to changing needs.
• Collaborate with SENCO and external professionals to deliver personalised programmes.
• Foster positive relationships with parents and carers to maintain strong links between home and school.
• Collaborate with external agencies to provide the best support for pupils.
• Work Monday to Friday, 8:30am–12:00pm.
