Job summary

Academics are seeking a Level2 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a pupil with behavioural needs at a primary school in Grappenhall, Warrington. You will also support the wider classroom and work with the teacher and school team.

The ideal candidate will hold Level2 TA qualification, have experience with SEN/behavioural needs, and be patient, calm and adaptable to individual pupil needs. DBS is required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Patience and calmness when supporting learners.
• Ability to work well within a team and adapt to pupil needs.
• Strong communication with pupils, teachers and parents where appropriate.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
• Willingness to obtain/hold a DBS check.
• Experience with pupils who have SEN or behavioural needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent 1:1 support to a pupil with behavioural needs.
• Help pupil engage with learning and the wider school environment.
• Support with managing behaviour and promoting positive relationships.
• Provide general classroom support alongside 1:1 responsibilities.
• Work closely with the class teacher and school team.
• Help create a calm, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Adapt approach to meet individual pupil needs.
