Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a compassionate 1:1 SEN Support Assistant for a welcoming primary school in the BS16 area, starting ASAP. You will provide dedicated one-to-one support, help with learning and emotional wellbeing, and implement personalised strategies to boost confidence and resilience.

Ideal candidates will have experience with children or individuals with additional needs, a calm and patient approach, and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children, young people or individuals with additional needs.
• Calm, patient and nurturing approach.
• Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Understanding of SEND and personalised support approaches.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support throughout the school day.
• Support pupil learning, wellbeing and social development.
• Implement personalised strategies and interventions.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in class activities.
• Record progress and contribute to pupil support plans.
• Work with teachers, SENCO and parents as appropriate.
