Job summary

The Education Network is seeking a committed SEN Learning Mentor to support a primary school pupil with Down syndrome in Wolverhampton. You will deliver 1:1 assistance throughout the school day, adapting activities to help the pupil access lessons, develop communication, confidence and independence.

Collaborating with teachers and specialists, you will implement targeted learning strategies, use visual resources, and promote social interaction and emotional wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Degree in Psychology or related field with child development focus.
• GCSE English and Maths at 4/C or above.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
• Help pupil participate in lessons, activities, routines.
• Develop communication and language using visual resources.
• Adapt literacy and numeracy tasks to ability level.
• Encourage social interaction and peer relationships.
• Support independence and emotional wellbeing
