The Education Network is hiring a 1:1 SEN Learning Mentor in Wolverhampton to support a non-verbal pupil with additional needs. This role involves helping the pupil access learning, following daily routines, and ensuring the pupil feels safe and supported throughout the school day.

The ideal candidate is a patient, caring graduate with strong communication skills, empathy, and resilience. DBS clearance is required or willingness to obtain one; immediate start until July 2027.

Qualifications

  • 2:2 degree or above in Psychology, Education, Childhood Studies or related subject.
  • Genuine interest in supporting pupils with SEN and communication needs.
  • Strong communication skills and a calm, nurturing approach.
  • Ability to build trust and provide consistent 1:1 support.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate – Must hold or be willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a non-verbal pupil to access learning.
  • Help the pupil follow daily routines and feel safe and supported.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to provide structure and encouragement.

1:1 SEN Learning Mentor

Can you provide calm, consistent support to a non-verbal pupil with additional needs? Are you a graduate looking to gain meaningful SEN experience in a primary school setting?

  • £85 - £100 per day
  • Immediate start until July 2027
  • ‘Good’ primary school based in Wolverhampton
  • 1:1 support for a non-verbal SEN pupil with additional needs
The Role:

As a 1:1 SEN Learning Mentor, you will provide dedicated support to a non-verbal pupil with additional needs. You will help the pupil access learning, follow daily routines and feel safe and supported throughout the school day. You will work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to provide structure, reassurance and consistent encouragement.

The Candidate:

This role will suit a patient, caring and resilient graduate who wants to make a genuine difference to a child with SEN. You should be calm under pressure, confident following guidance and able to build trust through consistency, empathy and positive interaction. This is an excellent opportunity for someone considering a future in SEN, educational psychology, clinical psychology or teaching.

Requirements
