The Graduate Network is looking for a patient and resilient graduate to join a good primary school in Wolverhampton as a 1:1 SEN Learning Mentor. You will provide dedicated 1:1 support to a non-verbal pupil with additional needs and help the pupil access learning, following daily routines and ensuring they feel safe and supported throughout the day.

Immediate start until July 2027. Applicants should have a 2:2 degree or above in Psychology, Education, Childhood Studies or a related subject,

Job description

1:1 SEN Learning Mentor

£85 - £100 per day, Immediate start until July 2027, Good primary school based in Wolverhampton, 1:1 support for a non-verbal SEN pupil with additional needs.

As a 1:1 SEN Learning Mentor, you will provide dedicated support to a non-verbal pupil with additional needs. You will help the pupil access learning, follow daily routines and feel safe and supported throughout the school day. You will work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to provide structure, reassurance and consistent encouragement.

The Candidate:

This role will suit a patient, caring and resilient graduate who wants to make a genuine difference to a child with SEN. You should be calm under pressure, confident following guidance and able to build trust through consistency, empathy and positive interaction. This is an excellent opportunity for someone considering a future in SEN, educational psychology, clinical psychology or teaching.

Requirements
  • 2:2 degree or above in Psychology, Education, Childhood Studies or a related subject.
  • A genuine interest in supporting pupils with SEN and communication needs.
  • Strong communication skills and a calm, nurturing approach.
  • The ability to build trust and provide consistent 1:1 support.
  • Enhanced DBS - Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
