Job summary

Qteg is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Behaviour Support Assistant in Lewisham to support a KS2 pupil with emotional and social development. You will work alongside the class teacher and wider school team in a large three-form entry primary school.

The role requires experience with SEMH, ASD or challenging behaviours and involves implementing positive behaviour strategies to help the child stay engaged during the school day.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEMH, ASD or emotional needs.
• Calm, patient and confident when handling challenging situations.
• Able to use positive behaviour management in school.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a KS2 pupil throughout the school day.
• Build a trusting relationship and monitor emotional development.
• Use de-escalation techniques to regulate emotions and return to learning.
• Liaise with the class teacher and school team to ensure consistent support.
