Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Reception-aged child at a welcoming primary school in Hall Green, Birmingham. The role requires someone who can provide focused 1:1 learning support and adapt to the needs of a pupil with physical needs.

You will work closely with the classroom team, assisting with mobility, personal care, and inclusive activities to help the child access learning and participate with peers throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Experience as Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant, ideally in a primary or SEND setting.
• Experience supporting children with physical disabilities, mobility difficulties or complex needs.
• Comfort providing physical support, including wheelchair transfers and manual handling.

Responsibilities

• Provide close 1:1 support to a Reception pupil to access learning across the school day.
• Assist with mobility and wheelchair transfers as required.
• Support personal care needs in a respectful, professional manner.
