Job summary

Lift North Thoresby, a village primary school, is seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support for an individual pupil and occasionally small groups. You will help create a calm, purposeful learning environment where each child feels seen and supported.

We welcome candidates with a Level 3 TA qualification as an advantage, and prior school experience. Familiarity with Read Write Inc phonics, understanding of child development, and a flexible, proactive approach are valued as part

Qualifications

Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous but not essential.
Experience supporting within a school setting.
Familiarity with phonics programmes such as Read Write Inc.
Understanding of child development and how children learn.
A flexible, proactive approach and a genuine passion for primary education.

Responsibilities

Supporting a child on a one-to-one basis or in small groups during focused activities.
Encouraging language development through play, songs and conversation.
Observing and recording progress and feeding back to the class teacher.
Supporting personal care needs with kindness and dignity.
Helping create stimulating, well-organised learning spaces.
Building strong, trusting relationships with children, families and staff.
Promoting good behaviour, emotional wellbeing and a sense of belonging.
