Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for mainstream primary schools in Barry, starting September 2026. This full-time role involves providing 1:1 support and working with pupils with ALN to promote engagement and independence throughout the day.

The successful candidate will have prior LSA experience in a UK primary school, a patient and proactive mindset, and strong communication skills within a supportive team. Competitive pay and CPD opportunities are included.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) in a UK primary school.
• Experience delivering 1:1 pupil support and/or working with pupils with ALN.
• Patient, understanding and nurturing approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Positive, proactive attitude and willingness to support where needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support and assist pupils with ALN across the school day.
• Support learning activities and promote engagement and independence.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to support pupil development and inclusion.
