Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a caring Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide 1:1 support for pupils at a welcoming school in Southend-on-Sea. This role offers flexible full-time or part-time hours and competitive rates dependant on experience, with ongoing professional development opportunities.

You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs and parents to support progression and promote a positive, inclusive learning environment, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND is advantageous.
• A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with additional learning needs.
• Assisting with classroom activities and lesson participation.
• Supporting the pupil's emotional, social, and academic development.
• Encouraging independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to support progress.
• Promoting a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment.
