Job summary

Mercian Educational Trust is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join Leigh and Bransford Primary School. The role involves supporting pupils in the classroom, delivering group interventions, and assisting with learning activities under supervision.

You will work with teachers and other assistants to monitor progress, foster development in broader aspects of student life, and uphold safeguarding policies within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Experience with groups of children to deliver high quality interventions and support.
• Ability to work with mixed ability groups and support learning.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Support a pupil in accessing and understanding lesson objectives.
• Deliver detailed work programmes for children with special educational needs.
• Supervise classes and assist with set activities during teacher absence.
• Monitor and report individual children’s progress to the teacher or supervisor.
• Assist the teacher in planning work programmes for individuals and groups of children.
• Promote equality, dignity and respect in line with school policy.
