Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting Learning Support Assistants to provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils across KS1 and KS2 in Somerset primary schools.

You will work closely with teachers to deliver small-group and individual activities, supporting children with diverse needs, including those with SEND, Autism, ADHD, and Speech and Language needs. A DBS Check is required or in process.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in school, SEND, care, youth work, or similar setting.
• Passionate about supporting children's learning and wellbeing.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Patient, reliable, and adaptable.
• Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Assisting teachers with classroom activities and lesson delivery.
• Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence, and engagement.
• Supporting children with additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech and Language and other SEND.
• Promoting positive behaviour and creating an inclusive learning environment.
• Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
