Tradewind Recruitment LTD is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to empower a secondary pupil with an EHCP through targeted 1:1 support in Preston. You will work with a KS3/KS4 student, differentiating tasks and supporting emotional regulation to help the student engage with lessons and build study skills.

You will collaborate with Teachers, the SENCO, and the Pastoral Year Team to monitor progress toward EHCP targets and GCSE readiness, ensuring a supportive, stable daily routine.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with teenagers (11–16) with additional needs or SEND.
• Level 2/Level 3 TA qualification, youth work credential, or relevant degree.
• Patient and able to establish boundaries with adolescents.
• Familiarity with neurodiversity strategies (ASC/ADHD) and de-escalation techniques; Team Teach is a plus.
• Enhanced DBS if possible or willingness to apply, with checkable references.

Responsabilités

• Provide tailored 1:1 in-class support across a secondary timetable.
• Differentiate learning resources and break down complex material.
• Support emotional regulation and manage sensory overload and transitions.
• Facilitate positive peer interactions and social inclusion.
• Collaborate with Subject Teachers, the SENCO, and Pastoral Year Team to track EHCP targets.
• Foster self-advocacy and independence for GCSEs/post-16 pathways.
