Job summary

Castle Hill High School in Stockport is seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 8 pupil, primarily within The Hub for autism/communication needs. You will work under the supervision of the class teacher and Hub lead, assisting learning and promoting pupil welfare.

Safeguarding is essential; successful applicants will require pre-employment DBS clearance. The role is 29.25 hours per week, term time only, temporary until 31 August 2027 with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with autism or similar needs.
• Ability to work under supervision in a hub environment.
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children.
• Flexibility to work 29.25 hours per week during term time.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for a Year 8 pupil.
• Assist teaching and learning in The Hub and classroom as required.
• Promote safeguarding and pupil welfare at all times.
• Collaborate with class teacher, Hub lead and senior staff.
