Job summary

Castle Hill High School is seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 8 pupil within The Hub, a specialist provision for autism and communication needs. You will work under the supervision of the class teacher and Hub leadership to promote learning and wellbeing.

The role involves supporting across the Hub and occasionally whole-class needs, with emphasis on safeguarding and flexible, responsive assistance.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with autism or communication difficulties.
• Satisfactory pre-employment checks including a DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service).
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for a Year 8 pupil in The Hub.
• Support teaching and learning in and outside the classroom.
• Collaborate with the class teacher, Head of Hub and senior leaders.
• Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people.

Castle Hill High School are looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join the team.

The role involves supporting teaching and learning in and outside the classroom across The Hub (a discrete provision within Castle Hill providing specialist support for pupils with autism and/or significant communication difficulties), working under the supervision of the class teacher, Head of Hub and senior leadership team. You will be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within The Hub. This position is primarily to be a 1:1 support for a year 8 pupil, however, you may also be needed to support the class as a whole and other classes across The Hub as required. We particularly welcome applicants who have knowledge of autism and/or mental health, or a desire to learn these skills.
