Job summary
A global cruise line in Pays de la Loire seeks a Naval Architect to engage in daily project routines for vessel classes during design and building phases. The role involves collaboration with the Project Management team, maintaining hydrostatics archives, and working on regulatory compliance with classification societies. Candidates must hold an M.Sc. in Naval Architecture and possess at least 2 years of relevant experience. Competitive compensation and a multicultural working environment are offered.

Naval Architect participates to daily ship project naval architectural routines for specified Vessel Classes during their design and building phases. Participation to concept design process for upcoming new build projects belongs also to main focus areas. Naval Architect will work closely with the Project Management team.
- Naval Architecture - Design and Building phases
- Participates to the ship project design and building process on the field of naval architecture
- Participates to definition, follow up and approval process of ships, hydrodynamics, comfort and safety during the design and building phases
- Hydrostatics, stability and weight
- Keep archive of all hydrostatics, stability and ships weight and related items for all new building projects
- Works as contact persons to consultants related to hydrostatics, stability and weight
- Participates Vessel Class project building and sea trial phase
- Participates to ships Naval Architectural and regulatory work with classification society, Flag administration, USCG, etc.
- Participates to new projects at the early stage (concept design) for various naval architectural tasks specified for each project separately by Chief Naval Architect

- Technology development
- Participate design criteria selection and development for new projects
- Risk management process for new technologies, define process how to identify risks properly at early stage of project
- Feasibility studies for different field of technologies as needed
- Proficiency in Excel, MS Word, MS Project or equivalent, PowerPoint,
- Capability to use the design programs like Autocad etc.
- Good skills to analyze and develop specifications.
- Drawings, layouts and other technical documentation.
- Understanding of shipbuilding project and programming processes.
- Basic knowledge of SOLAS, IMO, classification rules and marine standards.
- Fluency in English, other languages as advantage.
- Excellent teamwork skills.
- Good skills for communication and co-operation in multicultural working environment.
- Willingness to travel.
M. Sc. Naval Architect or equal with minimum 2 years of experience in the field of naval architecture in cruise shipbuilding industry.
