Job summary

Breakwater, a Los Angeles-based PropTech studio, develops AI-native software for prosumer hospitality operators. We are hiring a Venture Associate to be the operational backbone, owning studio operations end-to-end, running the GTM pipeline, and keeping our fundraising machine investor-ready.

We seek 1–3 years in a fast-paced ops role, exceptional communication, high ownership, and comfort with ambiguity. In-person in LA is preferred, with remote acceptable for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in an ops role at a fast-paced startup.
• Strong communication; you will be the connective tissue between teams and stakeholders.
• High initiative and ownership mentality; you operate with minimal oversight and accountability for outcomes.
• Proficiency with startup ops tools: Notion, Slack, Asana, Google Suite, Figma.
• Willingness to work late hours to coordinate with overseas teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and run studio-level operational projects: build the execution hub, set the weekly cadence, and drive accountability across the team.
• Manage the full GTM pipeline: track inbound/outbound leads, stage deals, assign next steps, and run weekly pipeline reviews.
• Keep fundraising materials investor-ready: pitch deck, one-pager, metrics sheet, data room, and outreach tracker.
• Create SOPs, briefs, and documentation to bring structure to a fast-moving studio environment.
• Coordinate across teams, including overseas members, with daily standups and weekly planning.
• Support venture validation and spinout execution for Breakwater's portfolio companies.
