European Investment Bank in Luxembourg seeks a Transaction Processing Officer to contribute to timely lending processing, data-driven operations and automated back-office transformations. The role blends financial operations with data and technology capabilities to enable resilient, scalable processes.

You will work with Front Office, Risk, Legal, IT and Data teams in a fast-paced environment, advancing STP and implementing emerging technologies such as AI and DLT.

Qualifications

• University degree (minimum an equivalent to a Bachelor).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in Middle or Back Office of Financial Institution, or equivalent.
• Good understanding of financial products and loan documentation.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work with operational and/or financial datasets.
• Exposure to automation tools, workflow engines or process optimization techniques.
• Exposure to AI or data science use cases (e.g. anomaly detection, classification, document processing, basic predictive analytics).
• Hands-on experience with data analysis or programming tools such as Python, SQL or equivalent, and data visualization tools (Power BI or similar).
• Excellent knowledge of English and/or French with a good command of the other.

Responsabilités

• Execute end-to-end processing of lending portfolio transactions.
• Ensure timely confirmations, settlements and lifecycle event management.
• Perform controls to reduce operational, financial and reputational risk.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of control frameworks, particularly in increasingly automated environments.
• Analyse operational data to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
• Apply analytical techniques to support decision-making.
• Develop dashboards, reports and KPIs to monitor performance and operational risk.
• Increase straight-through processing and reduce manual intervention through data-driven insights.
• Contribute to automation initiatives (e.g. reconciliation, matching, workflow optimisation).
• Explore and prototype data-driven and AI solutions, and validate outputs from a business and risk perspective.
• Contribute to the analysis and implementation of DLT-based settlement and post-trade solutions.
• Translate operational and regulatory needs into clear business requirements.
• Collaborate with Front Office, Risk, Legal, IT and Data teams on transformation topics.
