Cummins’ technical training organization in Europe is growing rapidly.
We are looking for a Technical Trainer to join our team specializing in Power Generation (engines and control systems), delivering technical training to our technicians and customers. The Cummins Technical Training team provides participants with the knowledge they need to safely diagnose, maintain and repair Cummins equipment. The position will be based in our new office in Saint-Peter.
To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills:
- Experience with diesel/gas generator sets and controls (Cummins or other manufacturers).
- Training delivery: Adapt your training methods to meet the diverse needs of learners, ensuring they acquire the knowledge, skills and practical abilities required to perform effectively in their roles.
- Communicate effectively: Develop and deliver clear, engaging and multi-modal communications that meet the specific needs of different audiences, ensuring your message is understood and has an impact.
- Demonstrate situational adaptability: Adapt your approach and attitude in real time to respond effectively to changing training situations and requirements.
- Customer focus: Build strong relationships with customers, provide customer-focused solutions and develop a global network.
Education/Experience:
- University degree or equivalent technical/service experience required.
- Relevant intermediate-level professional experience required, including preferably experience in a service environment.
- Extensive travel will be required during the first 3-6 months (training and accreditation programs in the US and UK). Assignments may last from a few days to several weeks, but travel requirements will decrease as your skills and capabilities develop.
- Fluency in French and English (B2/C1) is a mandatory requirement.
- This is a hybrid role combining on-site and home-based work.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Deliver high-quality training: Deliver technical training on Cummins products and systems to improve technician efficiency, repair quality and customer satisfaction.
- Continuous improvement: Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, evaluate training effectiveness and tailor programs to keep training materials current and effective, incorporating real-life scenarios and personal experience.
- Standardize procedures: Create and maintain work procedures that promote consistency and standardization across all training programs.
- Support electrical safety training: Support the delivery of electrical safety training, including NFPA 70E, load banking and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) training programs. Training and certification will be provided for the required programs.
- Improve training materials: Develop and manage training content using product design documentation and expert knowledge, ensuring that training materials are accurate and comprehensive.
- Improve training programs: Maintain and recommend improvements to the training library, ensuring programs evolve in line with product changes, safety requirements and feedback.
- Collaborate across the organization: Work closely with the wider Training organization, Service teams and Facilities team to plan, modernize and design a technical training environment that supports operational excellence.
