Job summary

Takara Bio is seeking a Product Development Scientist, Stem Cell, to advance cell culture media and related technologies for stem cell and ATMP applications. The role blends cell biology, assay development, data analysis and QC, with SOPs and documentation to support internal stakeholders.

In this hands-on position, you will plan and execute multiple R&D projects, maintain lab workflows, and contribute to technology transfer and collaborations.

Qualifications

• MSc or equivalent degree in Life Sciences; PhD in translational research/immunology/cell biology with 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 2 years wet-lab experience in biotech/pharma or related life sciences industry.
• Desirable: mammalian cell culture, stem cell biology or immunology background.
• Experience combining experimental biology with bioinformatics or quantitative data analysis.
• Experience in regulated or quality-driven development environments.

Responsibilities

• Drive cell culture media development from concept to transfer to Operations.
• Plan, perform and manage multiple cell biology studies across projects.
• Develop and optimize cell-based and analytical assays for product development.
• Ensure robust experimental design, data integrity and thorough documentation.
• Lead project workflows with clear milestones and reporting.
• Prepare technical reports and communicate results to stakeholders.
