Datadog is seeking a Staff Engineer on the Data Platform Experience team to shape how engineering teams build, operate, and evolve the Observability Data Platform. You will lead the design and delivery of reusable platform capabilities that reduce developer friction and improve operational visibility, enabling teams to move faster with confidence.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and building large-scale SaaS or cloud platforms with distributed systems expertise.
• Strong architecture and system design skills with track record of leading complex technical initiatives.
• Platform engineering mindset with emphasis on reusable capabilities for engineering teams.
• Experience with backend technologies such as Java and Go, and distributed infrastructure including Kafka and Kubernetes.

Responsabilités

• Lead strategic engineering initiatives that improve how product teams build, operate, and evolve services on the Observability Data Platform.
• Design and build scalable platform capabilities for cost intelligence and optimization recommendations.
• Develop operational intelligence and self-service tooling to improve platform health and reliability.
• Drive reusable platform services and developer workflows to increase engineering autonomy.
• Provide technical leadership across teams through architecture influence and mentorship.
• Participate in on-call rotations and continuously improve platform reliability.
