Datadog is seeking a Staff Engineer on the Data Platform Experience team to shape how engineering teams build, operate, and evolve products on the Observability Data Platform. You will lead design and delivery of shared capabilities to reduce friction and improve visibility, while remaining hands-on in code.

You will mentor engineers, influence architecture, and drive platform strategy across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and building large-scale SaaS/cloud platforms with distributed systems expertise.
• Strong architecture and system design skills, with a track record of leading complex initiatives across teams.
• Platform mindset: building reusable capabilities to empower other engineering groups.

Responsabilités

• Lead strategic engineering initiatives to improve product teams' ability to build, operate, and evolve services on the Observability Data Platform.
• Design and build scalable platform capabilities for cost intelligence and operational tooling.
• Develop self-service tooling to monitor platform health, troubleshoot incidents, and improve efficiency.
• Drive reusable platform services and developer workflows to increase autonomy and reduce complexity across products.
• Provide technical leadership by influencing architecture, mentoring engineers, and contributing hands-on code.
• Participate in on-call rotations and continuously improve platform reliability and observability.
