Lever, Inc. is seeking a Staff Engineer – Pricing to own the Pricing API and related backend systems in a remote-first setup. You will drive architecture, ensure accuracy and performance of energy pricing quotes, and lead cross-team decoupling initiatives for a scalable pricing platform.

The role emphasizes Python backend engineering, FastAPI, and data-intensive systems, with exposure to AI-assisted development and multi-agent workflows. External API readiness is a plus.

Qualifications

• Deep production experience with Python backend engineering and APIs at scale.
• Proven ownership of production systems and escalation handling.
• Led decoupling or architectural transformations of live systems.
• Strong proficiency with FastAPI and SQL in data-intensive environments.
• Experience designing systems where data accuracy, performance, reliability, and explainability matter.
• Ability to set technical direction across organizational boundaries.

Responsabilités

• Build, evolve, and operate the Pricing API for fast, reliable, and explainable pricing.
• Lead extraction of pricing logic into a dedicated service.
• Manage architectural migrations while protecting functionality.
• Own pricing reliability with monitoring and alerting.
• Explain pricing failures and improve diagnostics.
• Improve pricing performance and reduce latency.
