Job summary

Dune is building a data platform that makes onchain data observable. This role centers on a backend engineer who thinks in systems and contracts, focusing on data lifecycles and orchestration.

You will define end-to-end data contracts, orchestrate thousands of models, and drive reliable, scalable data products across Go, Kotlin, Rust, Python and SQL. You will work in a remote-first, distributed team, tackling hard data engineering challenges with strong emphasis on data correctness and

Qualifications

• Backend engineer with a focus on data systems and production services.
• Experience with orchestration and scheduling at scale.
• Knowledge of schema evolution and data correctness with downstream consumers.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the control plane for curated data lifecycle, including backfills and restatements.
• Decide architecture per dataset, choosing model, service, or job ownership.
• Define contracts between ingestion and curation for end-to-end reasoning.
• Build data quality signals and alerting for reliable on-call.
• Work across Go, Kotlin, Rust, Python and SQL to pick the right tool.
• Break large problems into shippable, useful increments.
