Mesh is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to architect and build the foundation of its global crypto payments network. You’ll own backend services, APIs, and core systems, guiding architecture and mentoring engineers across teams.

You’ll operate across Azure, Kubernetes, and cloud-native pipelines, balancing security, scalability, and performance as the company scales its payments platform.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in fintech or payments infra.
• Strong backend skills in one or more of: C#, C++, Go, Java, Python.
• Cloud-native development with Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD tooling.
• Security-first mindset: AuthN, AuthZ, SAML, API security, encryption.
• Understanding of crypto concepts: blockchains, RPCs, self-custody wallets.
• Experience leading engineering in a high-growth startup is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to navigate ambiguity.
