SATLANTIS France seeks a Space Project Manager to lead end-to-end space optical payload and Earth Observation camera projects, while building industrial capabilities in France. Reporting to the CEO, you will oversee technical performance, schedule, costs and risks, collaborating with customers, space agencies, satellite platform providers and suppliers.

The role suits a Space Systems Engineer evolving toward project management.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Space Systems, Aerospace, Electronics, Optics, or related field.
• 5+ years in the space industry (Systems Engineer/Technical Manager/Project Manager).
• Familiarity with space qualification, verification and AIT processes.
• Strong technical understanding; able to challenge engineering choices and coordinate specialists.
• Experience with Earth Observation, optical payloads, imaging instruments or small satellites is a plus.
• Fluency in English and French; Spanish is a plus.
• Eligibility to obtain defence security clearance in France.

Satlantis France is a pioneering company in Earth Observation, specializing in high-resolution optical payloads for small satellites. Our expertise spans methane leak detection, polarimetry and the development of downstream space applications.

We are looking for a Space Project Manager to lead the execution of space optical payload and Earth Observation camera projects, while contributing to the development of our industrial capabilities in France.

THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead space camera projects from contract award through integration, delivery and in-orbit operations. You will be responsible for technical performance, schedule, costs and risks, working closely with customers, space agencies, satellite platform providers and industrial partners.

This position is particularly suited to a Space Systems Engineer looking to evolve towards project and business management while remaining technically involved. Depending on the selected profile and company growth, the role may evolve towards Head of Programs or Head of Operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. End-to-end space project management

• Lead projects from kick-off through development, integration, launch preparation and commissioning.
• Manage schedules, budgets, milestones, risks and P&L, ensuring delivery against contractual commitments.
• Act as the main interface with satellite platform providers, primes and suppliers.
• Coordinate payload/platform interfaces across system-level, mechanical, electrical, thermal, EMC, software and data disciplines.
• Manage relationships with customers, space agencies, partners and key suppliers.
• Coordinate payload integration and satellite-level AIT activities.
• Contribute to proposals, tenders, cost and schedule estimates and selected business development activities.

2. Building SATLANTIS France’s industrial capability

You will drive the development of our payload integration capabilities, including:

• Identifying and evaluating suitable industrial premises in coordination with local authorities and regional stakeholders.
• Defining technical and functional requirements for the facility, including clean-room infrastructure.
• Coordinating suppliers, contractors and stakeholders involved in implementation.
• Monitoring installation, works, schedule and budget through completion and acceptance.
• Ensuring the facility is operational and ready for use by the AIT team.

PROFILE

• Engineering degree in Space Systems, Aerospace, Electronics, Optics, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in the space industry, ideally as a Systems Engineer, Technical Manager or Project Manager.
• Familiarity with space qualification, verification and AIT processes.
• Strong technical understanding and ability to challenge engineering choices and coordinate specialists.
• Experience with Earth Observation, optical payloads, imaging instruments or small satellite platforms is a plus.
• Fluency in English and French is required. Spanish is a plus.
• Eligibility to obtain a defence security clearance issued by the competent authority of the French Ministry of Armed Forces.
