Jobgether is partnering with a company seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Storage Virtualization Team) in France. You will design and develop fault-tolerant storage systems for large-scale AI cloud infrastructure, focusing on performance-critical I/O paths, replication, and self-healing features.

You will work on virtio-blk, virtio-fs, QEMU, vhost-user, and high-throughput networking; collaborate across international teams and participate in interviews.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience on backend, infra, or distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in C++ to build reliable, performance-sensitive software.
• Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures.
• OS internals knowledge, especially I/O, memory management, and scheduling.
• Experience debugging complex multi-layer systems.
• Ability to deliver production-quality, maintainable code.
• Good problem-solving skills with a focus on performance optimization.
• Familiarity with distributed storage, virtualization, networking, or cloud infra is valued.
• Excellent English communication in a collaborative, international team.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and maintain distributed, fault-tolerant storage systems for large-scale cloud infrastructure.
• Build and optimize high-performance block and filesystem storage solutions for demanding workloads.
• Develop virtualization components involving virtio-blk, virtio-fs, QEMU, and vhost-user.
• Work on high-throughput networking between VMs and storage using TCP and RoCEv2/RDMA.
• Implement replication, consensus, self-healing, and data migration features.
• Analyze and optimize system performance for sub-millisecond latency and millions of IOPS.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues across software, storage, virtualization, networking, and OS layers.
• Write reliable, production-quality code with focus on fault tolerance.
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with engineers across teams to deliver robust infrastructure at scale.
• Participate in coding interviews and technical evaluations as part of hiring.
