Job summary

Algolia is hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to own complex production systems and drive reliability at scale. You will shape architectural decisions across teams, align on-call practices, and improve CI/CD and automation for AI-powered workloads.

The role emphasizes hands-on cloud and Kubernetes expertise, strong networking knowledge, and a focus on reliability, observability, and FinOps in a global production environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on production experience with a major cloud provider (GCP, AWS or Azure).
• Designing and operating Kubernetes and cloud-native production systems at scale.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, networking, and reliability.
• Experience with highly available systems and demanding operational requirements.
• Ability to own ambiguous, cross-team technical problems and drive measurable outcomes.
• Strong automation mindset balancing reliability, velocity and cost.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve production infrastructure for AI-related workloads at scale.
• Design and operate highly available Kubernetes-based platforms.
• Improve reliability with SLOs, observability, and capacity planning.
• Lead complex production investigations and drive architectural improvements.
• Enhance shared infrastructure across networking, databases, and compute.
• Build CI/CD, progressive delivery, automation, and developer experience.
• Drive cloud cost efficiency and FinOps initiatives.
• Participate in on-call and incident response.
• Mentor engineers and raise the bar for reliability.
