Eutelsat Communications SA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build the Linux platform software for the next generation user terminals. You will create the layer that wraps the modem and antenna subsystems, expose clean APIs, and integrate higher-level User Terminal software for reliable operation at scale.

The role spans device integration, service design, and operational tooling, with a focus on observability, secure updates, and field diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software development, including embedded or systems software on Linux.
• Strong hands-on experience with C++, including work on embedded systems and mission-critical applications.
• Solid understanding of embedded systems, real-time constraints, concurrency, memory management and software architecture.
• Experience designing and maintaining APIs and service interfaces with versioning and stability.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate across teams to translate product, service and operational requirements into robust technical implementations.
• Design, develop and maintain the terminal platform software on embedded Linux: system services, device abstraction, IPC, lifecycle management.
• Design and maintain the terminal APIs: local and remote control, telemetry and event streams, versioning.
• Implement control and monitoring paths towards modem/antenna manager: sequencing, state synchronisation, error propagation.
• Own secure and reliable software update in the field: image management, roll-back and fail-safe behaviour.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests; build automation for verifiability as the platform grows.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions and delivery processes.
• Assist in system validation and troubleshooting across software, firmware, hardware boundaries.
• Contribute to board support package and integration work: boot, root FS, drivers and kernel interfaces.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices in software design and maintainability.
• Engage with internal stakeholders, partners and customers to ensure platform serves operational reality.
