Job summary

Eutelsat Communications SA seeks a senior modem architect to become the technical authority on the physical layer for next-gen LEO/multi-orbit terminals. You will define requirements, model links, and challenge design choices across a vendor-driven programme while owning the silicon- and software-integration path.

The role requires hands-on platform experience, independent technical judgment, and the ability to lead architecture reviews with external partners. Paris/London/Turin sites.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in signal processing, digital communications, telecommunications or electronics.
• 12+ years in digital modem or wireless physical layer engineering.
• Deep expertise in synchronisation and estimation theory for real receivers.
• Hands-on experience of programmable PHY platforms and their SDKs.
• Ability to form an independent technical judgement and to substantiate positions with analysis.

Responsibilities

• Master the platform hands-on: SDK and toolchain, PHY architecture, and host processor integration.
• Own terminal physical layer requirements and ensure traceability through the programme.
• Assess and challenge the receive chain design including acquisition below 0 dB Es/N0.
• Verify the coding scheme with FEC accelerators and BLER considerations.
• Audit the fixed point design and real-time partitioning across cores and accelerators.
• Lead architecture reviews and define acceptance criteria with partner teams.
