Job summary

Doctolib GmbH is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join the ML Engineering team in Patient Solutions. You will design and scale AI systems that improve access to quality care and patient health management across Europe.

You will build retrieval pipelines, work on LLM/VLM models, and deploy production-grade AI with a strong focus on observability, reliability, and measurable impact.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, or AI Engineering.
• Strong experience in Information Retrieval stacks: hybrid search, embeddings, vector databases, multi-stage retrieval and re-ranking.
• Proficiency in LLM and VLM application development: fine-tuning, distillation, prompt engineering, benchmarking.
• Experience building and orchestrating agentic AI systems and integrations with external tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement ML/AI solutions aligned with patient product goals, covering search, retrieval, and personalized care pathways.
• Build and maintain large-scale retrieval pipelines, hybrid search, embeddings, vector databases, and re-ranking architectures.
• Develop, fine-tune, and evaluate LLM and VLM models with knowledge distillation and MoE architectures.
