Job summary

Doctolib is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join the ML Engineering team in Patient Solutions, based at the Paris office with hybrid working. You will build and scale AI systems that improve access to quality care and patient health management across Europe.

Responsibilities include designing retrieval and LLM/VLM solutions, deploying them to production, and driving rigorous experiments while collaborating with platform teams. English fluency is required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, or AI Engineering.
• Strong experience in Information Retrieval and modern retrieval stacks: hybrid search, embeddings, vector databases, multi-stage retrieval and re-ranking.
• Proficient in LLM and VLM application development: fine‑tuning, MoE, distillation, prompts, benchmarking.
• Hands-on experience building and orchestrating agentic AI systems (e.g., using ADK).
• Strong scientific rigor: metrics aligned with product goals, controlled experiments, clear results communication.
• Experience operating large-scale production applications (monitoring, reliability, performance).
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement ML/AI solutions aligned with product goals (search, retrieval, care pathways).
• Build and maintain large-scale retrieval pipelines (hybrid search, embeddings, vector databases, re-ranking).
• Develop, fine-tune, evaluate LLM/VLM models (distillation, MoE, prompts).
• Build and orchestrate agentic AI systems with external data/tools and MCP integrations.
• Define metrics, run controlled experiments (W&B, MLFlow, Braintrust) and share findings.
• Deploy production solutions with ML platform team focusing on reliability and observability.
