The role requires a senior lawyer with 12+ years’ experience, strong drafting skills, and the ability to influence leadership. French native with English proficiency is essential; hybrid work in Bois-Colombes is offered.

Senior Legal Counsel – CP&ESG France (with a strong focus on CCH® Tagetik)

Job Summary – about the role

The Senior Legal Counsel of CP&ESG within the Global Law and Compliance Department (GLCD) will support primarily the Tagetik business unit in France, with possible support to other regions, as needed.

Therole will collaborate with business and legal leaders to reach decisions that support the organization’s objectives.Theindividual inthis positionwill be a trusted advisor, providing strategic insights and expert legal support.The position reports to the VP, Associate General Counsel CP&ESG, based in Italy.

Responsibilities

• Providedirectlegal support in structuring,drafting, negotiating andmanagingcomplex and high valuesoftware transactions, master services agreements and related statements of work, partner,resellerand strategic alliance arrangements as well asvendor and consulting agreements, with minimal supervision.
• Ensure legal strategies align with organizational goals.
• Innovate processes and drive continuous legal improvement.
• Provide top-tier legal advice and strategic recommendations.
• Implement and support forward-thinking legal solutions and frameworks.
• Foster strong relationships with leadership within the business and the GLCD.
• Track and respond to critical changes in the legal landscape.

Skills and Requirements

• A minimum of 12 years of progressively responsible legal experience, ideally gained through a combination ofemploymentwith an internationally recognized law firm and aglobal corporate law department within the technology industry, in a SaaS environment.
• Admission to practice law in the jurisdiction where the candidate resides.
• Prior management experience would be a plus but not required.
• Willingness to travel when necessary or appropriate.
• Strong intellect, excellent legal acumen (including excellent drafting skills), and rigorous analytical skills.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, technology, and business leaders to advise on the design, development, commercialization and deployment of software, data and AI-enabled products.
• Support AI initiatives within the Wolters Kluwer enterprise, the GLCD and the CP&ESG business unit, including advising on products, emerging AI regulation(s) and responsible AI frameworks.
• Functional knowledge of artificial intelligence technologies, including experience applying AI tools to streamline legal and compliance processes, enhance productivity, and support business innovation.
• Understanding of laws and regulations applicable to the business.
• Excellent communications and change management skills.
• A proven history of working well with and influencing a management team.

Languages: Native French speaker, proficiencyin English (both written and oral) is required

Location: Bois-Colombes (Hauts de Seine), France (Hybrid)

Must be able to attend meetings and/or conferences onsite as needed.
