Job summary

Jobgether is partnering with a client in France to hire a Senior Software Engineer. You will blend Laravel backend with Next.js frontend to deliver a large-scale, production-ready web app, migrate MongoDB to PostgreSQL, and optimize queries while collaborating with DevOps on Docker-based infra and CI/CD.

Requirements include 5+ years in software development, Laravel/PHP, Next.js/React/TypeScript, PostgreSQL and MongoDB, REST APIs, Linux, Git, Nginx, and Cloudflare.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong expertise in Laravel and PHP, including backend services and API development.
• Solid experience with Next.js and React.js, plus TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Practical experience with PostgreSQL and optimizing database performance.
• Good understanding of MongoDB and working with multiple database techs.
• Experience designing, building, and consuming REST APIs; integration of third-party services.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Linux server environments.
• Understanding of CI/CD workflows, Git version control, and deployment processes.
• Strong debugging, troubleshoot, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain features for a large-scale production web app.
• Work within an existing codebase, understand architecture, identify improvements.
• Build and optimize backend services with Laravel and PHP; develop REST APIs.
• Develop frontend features using Next.js, React.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.
• Migrate MongoDB components to PostgreSQL while preserving data integrity.
• Optimize PostgreSQL queries and data structures for performance.
• Integrate and maintain external APIs including payments and ERPs.
• Manage background jobs, queues, cron jobs, and workers for reliability.
• Collaborate with DevOps to improve Docker-based infra, CI/CD, deployments.
