Partner company in France is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and evolve large-scale infrastructure supporting customer-facing products. You will own end-to-end infrastructure, drive reliability, security, and cost-efficiency, and mentor engineers while collaborating with product, security, and DevOps teams.

You will work remotely from France, with strong ownership of cloud architecture, Kubernetes, and monitoring tooling to support growing workloads and cross-team

Qualifications

• 6–10 years in infrastructure, platform, or backend engineering in cloud environments (prefer AWS).
• Owns a significant product, platform component, or subsystem from design to production operations.
• Deep, broad infrastructure expertise with depth in one or two domains and breadth across the stack.
• Hands-on IaC experience using Terraform or equivalent.
• Strong cloud fundamentals: networking, load balancing, containers, Kubernetes/EKS, distributed systems.
• Proficient in Go or Python for production-grade software.
• Experience operating Redis/ElastiCache in production with clustering and scaling.
• Observability tooling experience: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry; incident management.
• Solid software engineering fundamentals: testing, code reviews, safe deployments.
• High ownership, autonomy, and ability to work with incomplete/ambiguous inputs.
• Strong communication and ability to align engineers and stakeholders.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer based in France.

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will help design, build, and evolve the infrastructure that supports large-scale, customer-facing products.

You will take end-to-end ownership of critical infrastructure systems, from architecture and implementation through production operations and continuous improvement.

The role spans cloud architecture, deployment systems, observability, performance, security, and developer tooling.

You will solve complex distributed-systems challenges while building reliable, scalable, secure, and cost-efficient platforms.

Working closely with product engineering, security, and DevOps teams, you will help services prepare for continued growth and increasing workloads.

You will also act as a technical leader, mentoring engineers and driving cross-team decisions through strong engineering practices and pragmatic problem-solving.

Accountabilities

• Own a core infrastructure product or subsystem end to end, including design, implementation, deployment, operation, and ongoing improvement.
• Define project objectives and measurable success criteria, align technical initiatives with broader business goals, and proactively identify risks.
• Translate product requirements and technical specifications into pragmatic designs that address important edge cases without unnecessary complexity.
• Build and maintain secure, resilient, high-performing, and cost-efficient infrastructure supporting diverse applications and workloads.
• Design, develop, and ship software and developer-facing tooling that improves engineering productivity and reduces operational toil.
• Manage infrastructure through code and configuration, primarily using Terraform, while maintaining consistency with broader architectural patterns.
• Partner with product engineering teams to design services for scalability, resolve ambiguous technical requirements, and collaborate directly with stakeholders.
• Participate in incident response and apply systematic debugging techniques to diagnose issues within your area and across interconnected services.
• Improve monitoring and observability while using operational data to identify opportunities for better stability, performance, and reliability.
• Apply a security-first mindset to infrastructure and software development, proactively identifying vulnerabilities in your own work and during peer reviews.
• Serve as a technical resource for complex infrastructure challenges and mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and design discussions.
• Facilitate collaboration across engineering and other stakeholder groups on technical architecture, processes, and infrastructure priorities.

Requirements

• 6-10 years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or backend engineering within primarily cloud-based environments, preferably AWS.
• Demonstrated experience owning a significant product, platform component, or subsystem from initial design through production operation and ongoing evolution.
• T-shaped technical expertise, with deep specialization in one or two infrastructure domains combined with enough breadth to navigate and contribute across the wider technology stack.
• Strong hands-on experience managing infrastructure through code and configuration using Terraform or an equivalent infrastructure-as-code solution.
• Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure fundamentals, including networking, load balancing, containerization, Kubernetes/EKS, and distributed systems.
• Strong programming skills in Go, Python, or a comparable language, with the ability to build and maintain production-ready software.
• Hands-on experience operating Redis or ElastiCache in production, including cluster and shard management, failover behavior, memory eviction policies, and scaling strategies.
• Experience with observability technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or comparable platforms, together with practical knowledge of performance tuning and incident management.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including source control, code review, comprehensive testing, edge-case handling, and safe deployment practices.
• High level of ownership and autonomy, with demonstrated ability to work effectively when required are incomplete or ambiguous.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical decisions clearly and bring engineers and stakeholders together around solutions.
• Strong written and spoken English, including experience producing technical design documents, reviewing pull requests, and communicating project or operational updates.
