Senior Operations Support Engineer
Position in Strasbourg, France. Work in company premises or on‑site at customer premises. Integrated into the Development team working closely with a major client’s IT team.
Responsibilities
- Manage high‑severity complex incidents across interconnected systems, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Lead technical investigations, root‑cause analyses and post‑incident reviews, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Define and refine monitoring strategies, establish performance baselines and thresholds, and optimise observability for proactive issue detection.
- Coordinate preventive‑maintenance initiatives and environment optimisation, ensuring compliance with operational and security baselines.
- Validate deployment plans, rollback procedures and testing strategies in collaboration with DevSecOps and Database Administration teams.
Qualifications
- University degree in IT or related discipline, combined with minimum 7 years of relevant IT experience.
- Minimum 7 years in enterprise IT operations, including at least 3 years in a senior operational role managing complex, cross‑system incidents and problem investigations.
- Excellent experience supporting containerised and cloud‑native production environments.
- Excellent experience with ITIL processes: Incident, Problem, Change, Release, Event and Capacity Management.
- Strong experience with Linux/Unix systems, container orchestration, and CI/CD integration (GitHub, SonarQube, Git).
- Experience in scripting and automation for operational tasks.
- Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, Bicep, Red Head OpenShift, Ansible Automation Platform.
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration tools: Docker/Podman, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Helm, and monitoring tools Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch.
- Experience with middleware and integration technologies (API gateways, messaging, event streaming, data transformation, identity‑management).
- Experience in capacity planning, performance trend analysis, and operational risk assessment.
- Experience with observability, logging and performance‑monitoring tools.
- Strong understanding of automation frameworks, version control and artefact management solutions supporting operational efficiency.
- Strong communication, documentation and coordination skills, including leading technical incident bridges and stakeholder updates.
- In‑depth understanding of middleware and integration technologies (API management, data transformation, messaging, event streaming, identity and access management).
- Excellent command of the English language.
