Stantec, a global engineering leader, seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer specializing in dams. You will lead design, analysis, and construction for dam projects, supervise multidisciplinary teams, and mentor junior staff.

You will engage with clients and contribute to market growth while advancing innovations in digital modeling and climate adaptation. The role offers hybrid/remote work options, competitive compensation, and pathways for technical leadership and career development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geological, Civil, or Geotechnical Engineering; Master’s or PhD an asset.
• 7+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Professional Engineer with P.Eng designation, or eligible to obtain license to practice.
• Experience in dam engineering, dam safety, geotechnical design, and/or dam construction.
• Knowledge of Canadian and global dam guidelines and standards helpful.
• General knowledge of geotechnical software solutions (GeoStudio™, LeapFrog, Rocscience).
• Demonstrated ability to work and manage projects independently.

Responsabilités

• Design, analysis, and construction of dams, reservoirs, dykes, spillways, and hydropower projects across Canada.
• Conduct Dam Safety Reviews and inspections per Canadian Dam Association guidelines, with travel within Canada.
• Manage geotechnical-focused and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Mentor and be mentored to foster technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and build relationships with clients and partners.
• Contribute to business development, proposals, and market expansion initiatives.
• Lead digitization, numerical modeling, and emerging tech focused on climate adaptation and risk.
