Job summary

JobTeaser’s JT AI Labs is seeking an experienced Senior Frontend Engineer to evolve the core platform. You will own end-to-end features from UI to data collection and recording workflows, ensuring reliability as the team scales.

You’ll work on browser media APIs, consent/traceability, and production-grade practices. Ideal candidates have 5+ years building web apps in production, strong TS/React/Next.js skills, and experience with WebRTC and AWS.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5+ years building and running web applications in production, end-to-end.
• Proficient in TypeScript with React/Next.js on frontend and backend.
• Hands-on with browser media APIs (WebRTC, Web Audio, MediaRecorder) or real-time SDKs.
• Experience with AWS (S3/IAM/KMS), Docker and Kubernetes, in production deployments.
• Strong observability focus: logs, traces, metrics, alerting.
• Product-minded: ship small increments and measure impact.

Responsibilities

• Take over and evolve the existing platform components (forms, review console, quota views, onboarding).
• Build a data collection platform from scratch (session scheduling, reminders, recording room, uploads).
• Solve browser audio challenges: raw capture, resumable uploads.
• Embed consent/traceability: contract creation, signatures, status logging.
• Contribute to engineering practices: PRs, runbooks, migrations, testing, CI/CD, observability.
• Collaborate with Head of AI, data engineer, delivery lead to turn feedback into product improvements.

Job Description

• Take over and evolve the existing platform: application form, review console, speaker quota view, accepted job page and project onboarding. Keep it reliable while the team grows.
• Build the data collection platform from scratch which includes the whole process from session scheduling (slot creation, overbooking rules and automated reminders), to virtual recording room and audio upload.
• Solve the hard parts of browser audio: local raw capture (no gain, echo cancellation or tampering with the input), sent via resumable, chunked uploads.
• Embed consent and traceability in the product: integrate contract creation and signature, log every status change, link consent forms to the collected data.
• Contribute to the team's engineering practices: architecture decision records, runbooks, backward-compatible migrations, testing, CI/CD and observability.
• Under the supervision of the Head of AI, work closely with the data engineer, the delivery lead and operations to turn field feedback into product improvements.

Qualifications

• You hold a Master's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field, or have equivalent professional experience.
• You have 5+ years of experience building and running web applications in production, end to end.
• You are proficient in TypeScript and have solid experience with React and Next.js (or a similar framework) on both the front and back end.
• You have hands-on experience with browser media APIs (WebRTC, Web Audio, MediaRecorder) or real-time communication SDKs.
• You have experience with AWS (S3, IAM, KMS), Docker and Kubernetes, and you are comfortable deploying and debugging your own code in production.
• You care about observability: logs, traces, metrics and alerting.
• You have a pragmatic, product-minded approach: you ship small, frequent increments and measure their impact.
• You thrive in a startup setting: you enjoy building from scratch, taking ownership, and navigating ambiguity.
• You enjoy working in cross-functional teams (Operations, Data, Product) and can turn operational pain points into concrete features.
• You are autonomous, curious, and comfortable in a fast-evolving ecosystem.
• Professional proficiency in English, bilingual in French.

Nice to have

• Experience with LiveKit, mediasoup, Daily or another WebRTC stack, including self-hosting.
• Experience with AudioWorklet, IndexedDB, offline-first patterns or Uppy.
• Experience with Supabase, background job queues (Graphile Worker, BullMQ) or Helm.
• Experience building marketplace or gig-work platforms: onboarding, scheduling, payments (Deel or similar).
